'You are me, and I am you. We are each other's mirrors — and in that mirroring, everything in your life can change.'
— Willem de Ridder · Guide to Mirroring
What this evening is about
Manifestation Through Mirroring is based on the practice developed by Dutch storyteller and author Willem de Ridder. Its central idea is disarmingly simple: the people and situations around us are mirrors. What irritates us, moves us, or inspires us in others reflects something of ourselves. When we learn to look at those reflections with curiosity instead of judgment, real change becomes possible.
This is not a workshop. Not therapy. Not a lecture. It is a structured group evening in which the program is read aloud directly from De Ridder's handbook, and the exercises are done together. The format is the same every time — and that is the point. The structure creates safety. The safety creates openness. The openness creates insight.
De Ridder believed that nothing in life is a coincidence, and that the universe always supports us — whether we are aware of it or not. Come and experience what that feels like, for ninety minutes, in the warm setting of a bookshop in Holland.
The program
The evening follows the official Mirroring format. Everything is read aloud as written. There is no improvisation, no selling, and no pressure of any kind.
Questions
Do I need to prepare anything?
Nothing at all. Come as you are. No reading, no experience, no spiritual background required.
Is this a religious or spiritual event?
No. Mirroring is not tied to any religion. It is a practical philosophy about self-awareness and human connection — accessible to anyone, regardless of background or belief.
What if I arrive late?
We start at 7:00 PM and gently ask everyone to arrive a few minutes early so the group can settle. If you are a few minutes late, come in quietly — you are still welcome.
Do I need to speak or share anything?
Absolutely not. The exercises are personal and internal. There is no pressure to speak, share, or perform. You can simply be present.
Will this happen again?
If there is interest, yes. Let us know on Facebook — your enthusiasm shapes what comes next.
Is there a cost?
This evening is completely free. No ticket, no donation box, no upsell. Just come.

The source
Willem de Ridder was a Dutch radio maker, Fluxus artist, and storyteller — and the creator of the Mirroring practice. His Guide to Mirroring, first published in 1999, became a classic in Dutch personal growth literature. He was later honored as a pioneer of the art of storytelling in the Netherlands.
The guide used this evening is a translation of the original Dutch guide by Willem de Ridder.
De Ridder had a gift for making deep wisdom feel light. He championed the idea of 'fan clubs' — small groups of people who gather regularly to remind each other of how extraordinary they already are. Tonight's evening is a living expression of that same idea.
'The universe always supports you — whether or not you are aware of it.'
